Witch Hunter's Ordained Lever-Action-Rifle

This is my first piece of work I created for my Masters at Sheffield Hallam University.
I learned a tremendous amount during this project, massively improving my texturing ability when compared to a similar project I've done in the past. Creating an asset from concept all the way through to the final product is something new to me as someone who is predominantly a 3D props and environments artist but it was a challenge I really enjoyed undertaking. My confidence with many aspects of prop development has come a long way in the last few months, I am now far more sure of myself when creating my initial block outs and I'm less afraid of late-stage changes than I previously would have been.

The idea behind this rifle was to create a themed concept and model of my choosing. I decided upon creating a witch hunter's rifle which had some really cool opportunities to add ornate engraved pieces and many diegetic story elements baked into the style of the weapon. I took inspiration from established games like Hunt Showdown to get a better grasp on how a high quality weapon in this style should look. As I prefer to do PBR workflows it was imperative that my materials read realistically and to ensure this I did far more research both online and in person on how these materials look and age.

I even got the chance to learn some more UE5 tools during the project when creating the contextual renders. (foliage and landscape materials are megascans assets and also from Unreal Engine packs by Project Nature on the Epic Storefront)

I'm extremely proud of the amount of work I put into this project and that I have managed to complete it to the level of quality I have considering some health complications that left me unable to progress as fast as I'd have liked. I hope you enjoy looking at the final project any constructive feedback is, as always, much appreciated.
